Hot damn, THE RUBENS are at it again. After headlining their own domestic shows in mid 2012, the Sydney boys are climbing even greater and more challenging heights within their own music, capabilities and potential.
A fantastically generated portrayal of their track ‘My Gun’ in their new feature music video has certainly lifted, for me at least, the bands overall general aura and even their potential direction.
A very Casino Royal-esque montage of some appropriate gun related reels follow closely with the, I suppose, western/soul attributes within the track. The bright blues and oranges within the video maintain the tracks mood, keeping it mysterious and also alluding to the fact that the video is in actuality, an accurate video representation of the track.
Not going to lie, the boys look pretty confident in some rather suave suits, portrayed in greyscale of course, fitting the theme of the video. Combined with a few psychedelically influenced backgrounds, looking somewhat like a huge nebula, thrown into the mix with some feminine silhouettes pointing a rather lethal looking (wait for it) gun, THE RUBENS are escalating to be something big.
