Live Review: Stream Bloc Party's New Album 'Four'

16 August 2012 | 4:30 pm | Tom Hutchins

Bloc Party drops 'Four' tomorrow, but before you head down to your local record store and buy up every last copy of it - stream it for free.

Well it has been a long time coming, and it’s probably felt like a hell of a lot longer to die hard fans, but finally we can say that BLOC PARTY's new album, Four, drops tomorrow.

There has been an enormous amount of hype surrounding the release of this, their fourth full length, ever since the band announced they were coming out of hiatus and then released 'Octopus' + a RAC Remix. But as with all hyped things; there is always an air of doubt over its quality. So if you’re a little confused by different reviews, stating that it’s heavier, punk influenced and purely guitar based – we suggest you get over to Bloc Party’s website. Why? Well because they're streaming the album right now.

Now, we don’t want to sit here and tell you what every individual track is like or rate this album out of 10. We don’t even want to tell you how awesome the album is – but we will anyway. It’s really, really good - it’s frenetic, high energy and seemingly takes Bloc Party back to their roots, but in a way that has yet again developed and completely changed their overall sound.  There are a number of surprises throughout the album, so prepare yourself for one of the most creative and interesting releases of 2012.

Basically what we’re saying is, before you head down to your local record store and buy up every last copy of Four and then go home and buy the limited edition Vinyls (we highly recommend you do that though) - is that you head over and listen to the album yourself.

But really, it’s not like we want to make your mind up over it or anything.

Check out the album stream right HERE.

Four is released 17th August though Frenchkiss/Co-Op.
