Live Review: LISTEN: AU 'Solid Gold' (Deerhoof Remix)

Alright, so comparatively speaking from a remixes perspective, everyoneʼs always going to compare the remix to the original version right? BUT, considering that, thereʼs also those rare instances, where the remixed track takes a complete new spin on the track and as a result, recreates its genre and sound.

On that note, the DEERHOOF remix of the brilliant AU track Solid Gold, completely fits that criteria in literally every way.

What a contemporarily astounding piece. Combining the original elements of the original track, such as the key vocals, underlying melody and strength of the sudden change in instrumental quantity, but is then in turn, layered with intense and creative saxophone rhythms, slower beats and a flow that combines to create an contemporarily industrialised version of AUʼs original track.

Everyone wants to hear a fantastic remix of their favourite song right? But they donʼt want to sort through the millions and millions of mostly shotty ones out there. Well look no further, because this is exactly what youʼve been looking for.
