Live Review: WATCH: The Black Keys 'Gold on the Ceiling'

This is The Black Keys’ second attempt at a video clip for ‘Gold on the Ceiling’ from the lovely El Camino. For comparison’s sake, the original video is at the end of this ‘ere post. But what we’re talking about here is this one, directed by Harmony Korine.

Before we begin, I’m going to point something out to you, how much does Dan Auerbach look like our very own Husky Gawenda? Weird right? But you know who looks more like Auerbach? His vertically-challenged double. Yes, the real The Black Keys wearblue jumpsuits and hang out with their pink twins. Sometimes their pink twins are attached to them, sometimes they’re dressed in pink and attached to huge versions of themselves. At every point in time, one of the pair is inatimate. GUESS WHICH ONE? THAT’S THE GAME!

The odd American scenery, the odd antics, the odd text/dialogue, the odd video at the end, this is pure Korine, and purely absurd. We don’t really know what to say. Except that it’s time you watched this and thanked whatever higher being you believe exists or doesn’t exist, that you don’t have another person attached to your torso all day. Unless you’re one of those couples. If so, all the power to you.
