The Presets Announce Third Album

21 June 2012 | 4:30 pm | Staff Writer

Responsible for the summer anthem of '07, 'My People', The Presets have announced a new album. Smangin'.

Just when you’d given up all hope in humanity and all faith in mankind, you hear that THE PRESETS are finally bringing it back and releasing a brand spanking new album – yes, there is a God!

The new album from Aussie electronica duo is titled Pacifica and is set to be released on September 14th through Modular Records.

The album is said to feature ten crazy synth-packed tunes, as is to be expected from the boys who have the mad skillz to produce tracks like ‘My People,’ the killer tune from their previous album which sat at the top of the ARIA charts for over 75 weeks. Not only did ‘My People’ become the longest charting Australian single in ARIA chart history, but The Presets also landed themselves six ARIA and ARIA artisan awards -- in other words, they got this shit covered.

So although we haven’t heard from them since the good old days of 2008, a time when goon sacks, fake IDs, and house parties reigned supreme, there should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that Pacifica is going to hit hard.

And as if ten new tracks weren't enough, The Presets have decided to up their mega-babe points and include a bunch of cool shit with the release of Pacifica, including a limited-edition deluxe version of the album, with only 1,500 copies to sell worldwide. The album, which will be released on CD, vinyl, and MP3 download, will include a booklet with artwork, and a limited edition signed and numbered lithograph.

The Presets have also just been announced as headliners for this years Parklife festival happening in months to come, AKA there’ll be just enough time to get your filthy little hands on a copy of Pacifica and fall passionately in love with it before partying down in the flesh.
