Australian sweethearts THE TEMPER TRAP have released a taster from their upcoming self-titled album, due out May 18.

Australian sweethearts THE TEMPER TRAP have released a taster from their upcoming self-titled album, due out May 18 and it is 3 minutes and 17 seconds of indie-rock eargasm.

'Rabbit Hole' is more mellow than the likes of 'Sweet Disposition' and 'Fader', but features Dougy Mandagi's distinctive vocals at their best – his husky yet sweet voice is infectious as ever. Where 'Fader' is pure pop bliss, 'Rabbit Hole' is moodier and darker, electric guitar riffs ripping through the acoustic calm after the 2nd verse. Harmonies croon the brooding lyrics, 'every which way you go they're gonna hunt you down', as the song builds from down-tempo to a heavy-burning outro.

'Rabbit Hole' is just a sneaky peek at what we can expect from the Melbourne boys, and the first official single from the album Need Your Love, set to be released later this month. The band's breakthrough LP Conditions brought success here and overseas and after 3 years of anticipation THE TEMPER TRAP's second offering is finally coming. If 'Rabbit Hole' is any indication, the new 12-track album promises similar critical and commercial success.
