Actually this is better than a regular LISTEN post. This is a free download of the title track from BEST COAST’s sophomore album, The Only Place. Yup, thanks to the lovely men and women at Popfrenzy Records you can have a listen to this track well before the official release date, May 18.
So we love Best Coast. In all honestly, we think Bethany Cosentino is a babe, especially live. This time around they’ve got a bigger budget and they’ve got Jon Brion (yep, the guy who wrote the entire I Heart Huckabees soundtrack) as producer. Yes.
The song seems a precursor for an album that should hopefully showcase Best Coast’s musical development. If Crazy For You was their puppy album, now they’re a bit older and a bit wiser. ‘The Only Place’ is a chill track, but definitely seems as lovestruck as ever, and we always have fun listening to their surfy tunes.
