Live Review: WATCH: The Maccabees 'Feel To Follow'

18 February 2012 | 11:00 am | Staff Writer

The Maccabees have their own personal take on the apocalypse in new clip, 'Feel To Hollow'- bearded men and drunk rich women. Sounds fun?

A couple of years ago I fell in love with THE MACCABEES after catching their clip for ‘Love You Better’ late on during an insomnia-induced youtube binge. The song just hit a cord with me; it was something different to what I had been hearing at the time.

I don’t know if it was Orlando Weeks’ voice or the musical arrangement, but what I do know is that the next day I bought Wall of Arms, and then left it on repeat for about a year and a half.

Having been less than impressed with the actual clip for 'Love You Better,' I didn't expect much from the newly released 'Feel To Follow.' My immediate reaction was pretty much "oh great, so they found that annoying film filter iPhone app that everyone uses when they film random shit and want to seem artsy." But oh my, that was a knee jerk reaction if there ever was one.

The group have put forth a video with a whole lot of imagery from what appears to be The Rapture, which then flicks to a bearded man running around a field and then over to some rich woman drinking, and spinning around in mid-air. I have no idea what it all means and I really have no intention of deciphering it.

Catch The Maccabees at this years Groovin The Moo Festival, for full line-up details see HERE.
