Live Review: WATCH: Miike Snow ‘Paddling Out’

8 February 2012 | 5:00 pm | Staff Writer

“I am not Miike Snow.  That is the name of the band.  My name.  Is.  Andrew.” Those were the only words Andrew Wyatt, lead singer of Swedish electro pop outfit MIIKE SNOW, said during their set at Splendour in the Grass 2010. It was in that moment I knew; I was a fan of these eccentric Swedes.

MIIKE SNOW’s self-titled debut album was a quirky blend of moody yet optimistic indie pop. With singles such as ‘Animal’, ‘Black and Blue’ and the odd yet addictive ‘A Horse is not a Home’ (three years later and I still have no fucking idea what this song is about) they garnered a solid fan base. Now they're back with their sophomore album Happy To You which is looking to be released in March this year.

If this video is anything to go by, the boys have stayed true to their dark offbeat humour and catchy sounds that made them so popular. I can already hear the music festival crowds roaring along to this song as they dance their little hearts out.
