The chorus/post-chorus of this track by Ann Arbor, Michigan post-rocker ABSOFACTO is definitely where the money is. It features a great snare shuffle and complementing vocal melody reminiscent of something you would hear on an early album from The National or Dismemberment Plan.
‘On A Ladder Leading Nowhere’ possesses some great instrumental sections throughout, but unfortunately some fairly lyrically lackluster verses let this track down. A crying shame since this one is a 90% real winner – overall we highly recommend a listen.
ABSOFACTO has hinted on his FACEBOOK PAGE that he’s currently working on a new LP, but for now go and stream the small EP release that ‘On A Ladder Leading Nowhere’ belongs to HERE. You can download it for only $3 – I bought my copy and it was worth every penny. The first song ‘If You Want’ is a definite stand-out for me.
