Oricle are a sweet new male streetwear accessories brand, running out of Melbourne. Their stuff is super cool, and you should check it out.

Oricle are a new male street wear accessories brand running out of fine old Melbourne. Their stuff is rad, and you should check it out HERE. We took some time out to chat with Frankie and Vince from the brand about their story, their label and things they dig.

PS: Frankie and Vince, Can you give us a bit of background on both of your histories? What have you guys been involved with in the past?

Frankie: We have both grown up skating and snowboarding from a young age and later on we both chose paths that were related. I became an agent for multiple brands and Vince bought Blindside Skateboards. One of the main brands I worked on was DC Shoes, along with a few other streetwear brands. Later on my business was bought out, and Vince and I teamed up with Blindside.

A year later we formed a distribution company and we started distributing REBEL8.

Vince: I did what most people in Vancouver do; worked in the ski hills during winter and was a straight up bum all summer. I skated, traveled to all the reggae festivals, and pioneered new ways to smoke weed. I met a girl and followed her to Melbourne, and have been living La Veda Bueno ever since.

PS: What was the original vision with Oricle and what made you decide to start the brand?

Vince: We didn't like what was currently available. As far as wallets go, every thing was too big or not functional; we thought we could do better.

PS: Where do you get the inspiration for Oricle’s sleek, straight to the point designs?

Vince: Everywhere... I like things that are simple but with a thoughtful twist.

What are your favorites spots to party in Melbourne? (Besides CANT SAY :))

Vince: I don't party much in Melbourne; though like a true fat guy I do like a fancy restaurant. Frankie likes Bali for partying (he seems to go there a lot).

PS: If there was one song that our readers could associate with Oricle as a brand what would it be?

This is a hard one... Frankie would say some late 80's punk shit like 'Drunk On A Bike' by SNFU, mostly because he really likes them. I'm thinking 'Red And Purple' by The Dodo's because they use interesting instruments. It's mellow but has an edge. Maybe I'm over thinking this... You could associate us with 'The Big Payback' by James Brown, because we dont know karate but we know karazy.

WIN WIN WIN

We have a bunch of Oricle caps to give away to 20 of our coolest readers. The first 20 people to "like" Oricle's Facebook Page and mention Purple Sneakers in a post on their wall will score a super sweet hat!
