Live Review: LISTEN: OBERHOFER 'HEART'

New York based OBERHOFER has recently signed to the US label Glassnote alongside massive artists such as PHOENIX and MUMFORD AND SONS. His new track 'Heart' is a precursor to his upcoming album 'Time Capsules II' due to be released in March 2012. 'Heart' is a love song and is packed with a multitude of diverse sound layers that capture the melodrama of young love.
It is refreshing to hear a track that uses grandiose orchestral instruments but still manages to come off as an unpretentious pop song. This is made possible by OBERHOFER'S imperfect and scratchy voice that by comparison makes the glorious flourishes of grand piano, cello and violins seem almost humorous. 'Heart' definitely has a sense of humour about it but this does not take away from its beautiful composition. In fact, it only increases the number of reasons why you'll like this song.
