Live Review: First Aid Kit Australian Tour 2012

2 November 2011 | 4:38 pm | Staff Writer

Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit will be back to Australia in March for a full tour to follow up the release of their album 'The Lions Roar'

Swedish folk sister duo First Aid Kit will be returning in March for a full Australian Tour to follow up the release of their much anticipated second album 'The Lions Roar' on January 27. The trip will commence on the 10th at the WOMADelaide Festival and will include an appearance at Golden Plans Sixxx and stops in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.Hailing from my second favourite city in the world; Stockholm, the band manage to sound gorgeously like they're from the US south obviously taking influence from a lot of American Folk music. The lead vocals are definitely reminiscent of a female Robin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes). That said First Aid Kit are certainly walking their own road with flawlessly constructed songs and a distinctive 2010's Folk sound.

The video for the first single and title track from their upcoming album has just dropped and features the girls Arcade Firing through the wilderness of their native country. Seriously, you cant go wrong with Swedish girls...
