CUT COPY’S new video for ‘Blink and You'll Miss a Revolution’ pays tribute to the 1960’s version of Planet of the Apes
CUT COPY’S new video for ‘Blink and You'll Miss a Revolution’ pays tribute to the 1960’s version of Planet of the Apes. Set in a futuristic monkey den, a band of apes use the band's amputated body parts to play ancient instruments – guitars, base, drums and keys. The clip makes a comment on the electronic future of music where physical instruments could become rare antiquities in the face of music creation software. But message aside, the clip is just quite funny and cute. The singing heads of the CUT COPY members is a very nice touch.
Although they have not simply cut, copied and pasted their previous album the track does have a similar feel to material on Lights and Music. It is heavily influenced by 80’s electro-pop and it makes you wanna dance!
