San Fran Disco Into Can't Say

5 September 2011 | 11:50 am | Staff Writer

CAN'T SAY are bringing a touch of Park Life to your club life with SAN FRAN DISCO showing you the skills that got them a spot on the bill.

This Friday CAN'T SAY  are bringing a touch of Park Life to your club life with SAN FRAN DISCO showing you the skills that got them a spot on that prestigious bill along side Death From Above 1979 and Digitalism.  To roughen things up are the garage shag duo DUNE RATS who look like a Pantine ad on crack  and play to get you equally moist.  Ironically, CAN'T SAY have a lot to say about it...

Ola Bitchez!

So by now, you've probably started to realise some of the awesome acts that CANT SAY has up their sleeve, and just when you thought it couldn't get any better, it seems they have pulled another Bullshit-good-line-up out of relatively thin air...

Melbourne based five piece, SAN FRAN DISCO will be gracing the stage this week, following the release of their self titled 2010 E.P, produced by Eddie Raynor of Crowded House and featuring guest drums from ex-John Butler Trio percussionist Michael Barker. The tight knit five piece have forged a reputation in the Melbourne music scene as an up and coming act with a killer live show.

Sold out shows at premier Melbourne venues including The Toff in Town and Revolver Upstairs earned the band headline slots at Prince Band Room, The Esplanade Hotel, The Workers club and The Evelyn, a support slot along side Bluejuice at the Corner Hotel, Supports with Owl Eyes and Jinja Safari at the Esplanade Hotel and spots on the bill at this years Hot Barbeque and Parklife music festivals, and the band show no signs of slowing down any time soon.

The bands video for “Cass” capped off a ground breaking year, with a feature slot on the ABC’s website, and several weeks of prime airtime on RAGE. Blending pop sensibilities with a progressive art rock back drop and impressive 5-part harmonies, 2011 promises big things, with the bands second EP produced by Mercury Prize winning producer Wayne ʻLOTEKʼ Bennett (Roots Manuva, Speech Debelle) due for release later in the year... Definitely ones to keep your eyes on in the near future as they are destined for big things!

Brisbane based Indie-Surf duo DUNE RATS will also be making a sneaky appearance at CANT SAY that night also.  The duo have an extensive tour planned over the coming months, for the release of their EP 'Social Atoms'

The band put an interesting spin on song-writing, saying that if they can't finish writing a song within an hour, then it usually doesn't get the go-ahead. This live-fast attitude is definitely conveyed across to their live show, but also with uniquely laid-back undertones, inspired from pop legends such as the BeeGee's and Elton John.

With supports from Local Legends; AIRWOLF and TRANTER where else would you possibly even think about going?
