Purple Sneakers: Social Party Ensue

It was the doctors orders for us to take some time off to let livers rebuild, give our ears a chance to stop ringing and the soles of our feet to recover from week after week of relentless dance floor destroying.  Who were we kidding? The beer soaked sweat needs to escape from pores and get amongst a crowd of equally damp drunken delinquents…so PURPLE SNEAKERS is throwing a party!

On Friday 23^rd September the doors of The Gaelic will fall victim to an onslaught of indie mayhem when Brisbane duo DUNE RATS hit the stage to launch their Social Atoms EP.  DUNE RATS is all Danny Beus (Villians of Wilhelm), BC Michaels (The Cairos/Comic Sans), flailing limbs, raw energy and a live show notorious for inducing the boys into a vomit-fuelled stupor.  You wouldn’t take them home to your mother, but mainly to avoid seeing your mum flash her tits and cut sick to some sweet garage tunes.

Because we believe in shoving as much gag worthy music down your throats as possible, a massive double headline was called for.  If you’re not already a member, get down to see VELOCIRAPTOR; rolling twelve deep they are described as more of a vintage street gang than band.  They are hitting the road on their ‘Drunken Knife Fights Ensue’ East Coast Tour spreading their 60’s inspired garage grit along the way.  By the end of their set we can guarantee you’ll either a fan, naked or the band’s 13^th member.

Rounding out the night are local indie punks BLOODS and everyone’s favourite shindig king RANDALL STAGG.
