Purple Sneakers presents Velociraptor East Coast Tour. One of Brisbane's best new bands with crazy live shows not to be missed!
Could this be one of Brisbane’s best new bands? There’s certainly a lot of buzz surrounding the 12 piece and with damn good reason. Triple J’s Dom Alessio said “if this band was anymore fun, it’d be illegal”. These dudes rock. But not in your average indie rock kind of way. Velociraptor are one part gritty-garage-sex and the other part polished, 1960’s-matching-outfits-swag.Originally consisting of 3 members in 2008 (Simon & Shane from DZ Deathrays included) the band grew and developed to its current state in 2009, releasing a debut ‘7’ in September 2010.
With 12 band members, the live show is one to experience. Energetic and crazy, lo-fi garage sounds are transformed with an array of musical instruments and gang vocals. Velociraptor know how to put on a show; having played alongside the likes of You Am I, Little Red, Neon Indian and John Steel Singers at some of QLD’s best events. They were also the QLD main support for Ghostwood during their recent national tour.
With a new EP in the works, get along to see them at the tour dates below while ticket prices are still dirt cheap!
