World Champion's New Single 'Dream'

19 April 2011 | 4:56 pm | Staff Writer

You really can't get any more indie than Sydney artists World Champion and we don't just mean their low fi tunes and shoe gaze pop that we love. DIY enthusiast Michael Woodmansey, the man behind World Champion, and his long time collaborator Kristy Wilson have taken on the mighty task of self producing and releasing their bedroom recordings.

The result is their new single 'Dream' which featured in this week's UK edition of  NME.  The track's dark lyrics and 80's inspiration echoes hints of The Smiths and Simple Minds but with enough airy synths and melodic vocals to get you hooked.

'Dream' is available for download here: WORLD CHAMPION BANDCAMP

OWL EYES AUSTRALIAN HEADLINE TOUR!!

Melbourne songstress Owl Eyes is more than just a pretty face, long honey locks, lips like soft dewy crescents sorry, where were we?  This singer/songwriter won us over with her debut EP Faces and a voice that daringly tiptoes somewhere between sultry and angelic. Since then she has been super busy scoring the support for Darwin Deez as well as announcing the release of her new single 'Raiders' off her highly anticipated follow up EP. To celebrate, Owl Eyes is hitting the road on her very own headline national tour.
